The Foundation for the Restoration of America (FFROA) awarded a $2,000 scholarship to Mount St. Mary’s University student Isabelle DeBry following her completion of the Constitutional Study Program.
DeBry is from Richmond Hill, Georgia and is pursuing a degree in Accounting. After taking the free courses in the Constitutional Study Program provided through Hillsdale College, she reflected on the program.
“This was a true learning experience for me, and one I am grateful to have undertaken. More importantly, it gave me hope that if our Founding Fathers could accomplish this great work amongst adversity, we too, can continue their legacy by finding ways to keep our Constitution, and subsequently our nation, intact,” She shared.
DeBry also noted the strength of the individual is a cornerstone piece of the American Founding ideals. “A tremendous debt is owed our forefathers for developing the freest system of government while also limiting governmental power,” she said. “The freedom and happiness of the individual is recognized as essential to maintaining the nation’s strength.”
The Foundation’s Executive Director Christine Altenberger reacted to DeBry’sselection as a scholarship recipient. “I’m proud of Isabelle and all the work she put into the Constitutional Study Scholarship Program,” Altenberger said. “We want to reward young men and women who work diligently to understand not only our system of government today, but the ideals that shaped the Founders as they sought out to create our governing documents.”
